FLEURS DE DÉESSE was ours. I love floral fragrances — there are beautiful ones out there. But so many of them seemed to smell the same. I wanted something different, timeless, effortless. For me, that started with linden blossom. Originally created for myself, I could not gatekeep this beauty.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWhen I brought that vision to our perfumer, Maud Chabanis, she understood immediately. We built the fragrance around the linden blossom, letting it lead, supported by radiant orange blossom and the quiet resin of elemi, then grounded in cedarwood and cypriol. The name came from another source of inspiration — Annick Goutal, Olivia Giacobetti, and Christine Nagel, female perfumers whose work I have admired for decades. To me, they are the goddesses of fragrance. The heart is warm and floral: linden blossom, orange blossom, elemi. They were either too sweet, almost cloying, or they didn't smell like vanilla at all. So I started thinking about what I would want in a vanilla fragrance. What would make it worth making. I'm glad I did. This last-minute entry is the fragrance that launched FLEURIT to cult status, and it's still our best seller.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eI thought about my mother baking. Every Easter, she baked. I was always underfoot, wanting to help, really just waiting to lick the whisk. Butter, sugar, eggs, fresh vanilla bean steeped in warm milk. Not the finished cake. Just that, quiet, raw, and already perfect. GÂTEAU DES ANGES is my attempt to bottle it.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA flormand fragrance, floral vanilla at its heart, but vanilla as it was meant to be. Subtle. Sophisticated.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eWhat does GÂTEAU DES ANGES smell like?\u003c\/strong\u003e It opens with butter, warm, immediate. Then lemon and peach come in, and when the milk note arrives it does something unexpected: there's a brief, nostalgic flash of fruity cereal. It made me smile the first time I smelled it. It doesn't last long, but it's there. Then the honeysuckle shows up, a soft floral sweetness, nothing heavy. And from there it dries down into vanilla, real vanilla, the kind with depth.
