Mangomacumba

Rio de Janeiro. In the outskirts of Brazil's sprawling metropolis, beneath the lush vegetation of Tijuca National Park, the rituals of macumba are performed. Macumba is a term from the Bantu African language used to describe religious practices that blend pagan elements of African origin with influences of popular Christianity and multiple currents from Brazilian culture. Contrary to Western cultural assumptions, macumba is not inherently connected to "negative" rituals. Rather, in most of these syncretic propitiatory rites, the intention is to promote protection, health, prosperity, fortune, and well-being. Animal sacrifices are sometimes made during these paranormal rituals to favor the positive influences of the divine.
MANGOMACUMBA is the first release from Spiritica's OSCURATA COLLECTION. The opening of this 35% extrait de parfum is intensely fresh, fruity, joyful, luminous, and tropical. Realistic tropical mango notes blend with sharp, citrusy nuances of lime and pineapple, accented by a touch of peppermint that, combined with ozonic notes, creates a broad, oxygenating freshness from the first spray.
A bloody, succulent heart emerges between metallic notes and tropical flowers, evoking the locations, instruments, and sacrificial offerings of these rituals. As MANGOMACUMBA evolves—growing darker and more metallic—it offers an olfactory ritual experience that unites shadow and light. A striking contrast flows from opening to base, anchored by a precious tobacco absolute, blended with the darkness of luxurious ebony oil and the warm, wild notes of red earth, softened by comforting milky accords.
MANGOMACUMBA invites you to "look beyond" what has been imposed upon you, to unite cultural diversity, and to explore one of humanity's most mysterious and shadowed dimensions. Created in collaboration with perfumer Daniele Cerroni, MANGOMACUMBA was developed step by step from the conceptual vision of Spiritica founder Daniele Muratori Caputo.
